
No flour, no butter, no refined sugar in this healthy and easy chocolate tart. Made with almonds, avocado and agave nectar. Each slice is only 203 calories and 6 WW points+.
This tart is an adaptation of Martha Stewart’s tart. My friend made it and brought it to my house one Saturday night. We loved it.
But you know me…I had to healthify it in order to enjoy.:)
The best part besides being healthy, it is easy. You literally only need to throw everything in a food processor and blend.:) No dough rising or using a ton of bowls.
I roasted the almonds and found I liked it better this way. In order to dull the taste of avocado I added extra cocoa powder.
The tart came out rich, sweet enough and filling. It is not supposed to be high or fluffy. It’s a tart.
I do not own a removable bottom tart pan, so I just used the cheesecake one. I should buy one to have that nice edge for the photos.:)
I served it with a little bit of whipped Truwhip. It is a healthy whipped topping. Find a store near you here.
Ingredients
- 1 avocado, medium
- 1 cup roasted almonds, whole
- 1/3 cup agave nectar
- 1/2 cup egg whites
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder, unsweetened
- 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1.5 - 2 pears, for garnish
- Cooking spray
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 F degrees.
- In a food processor, ground almonds into a fine powder. Add avocado, agave, egg whites, cocoa powder, vanilla and salt. Process until combined.
- Spray removable-bottom tart pan or cheesecake pan with cooking spray. Pour mixture into it and spread evenly.
- Halve, core and cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices pears. Arrange slices in a circle on top of the mixture, slightly overlapping. Do not press them in.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the tart comes out clean. Cool before removing from a pan.
